Edwin Abbott was born on 21 November 1878 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Barbara Abbott and Edwin Abbott.^[1][2][3]

He married Sara Jane Walker on 12 January 1904 at St. James' Church, Forest Lodge, New South Wales.^[4][5] Their children were:^[6]

Edwin was Australian Government Customs Comptroller-General from 1933 to 1944.^[3][7]

Sara died in July 1944.^[6]

Edwin died on 1 September 1947 at Darling Point, New South Wales.^[2][7][8]
