Biography

Charles Frederick Abbott was born on 27 October 1904 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, son of Mary Ann (Harbour) Abbott and William Edman Abbott.^[1]

He married Minnie Helena Pedersen on 17 May 1930 at the Congregational Church in Burwood, New South Wales.^[2] They had two children.^{[citation needed]}

Charles died on 17 January 1960 in Freemasons Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria, aged 55 years, the result of injuries suffered in a car accident.^[3] His wife Minnie was killed instantly in the accident 10 days earlier.^[4] He was cremated at Springvale Botanical Cemetery at Springvale, Victoria, Australia.^[5]

David ABBOTT wrote to say that his father, Charles Frederick was the youngest surviving child and the first NOT to go into the family pottery business. He became an Advertising Copywriter and progressed to a Human Recourses Manager. Charles Frederick and Minnie Helena were both cremated at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and their plaques are at the base of a memorial tree. Charles Frederick and Minnie Helena both died as a result of a car accident. Minnie died in the accident while Charles died 10 days later in hospital. Springvale Botanical Cemetery records indicate that he was a member of the Congregational faith.
