He played his first Test Match against the touring English at Melbourne from December 29, 1928 - January 05, 1929. And his last against South Africa, also at Melbourne from December 31, 1931 - January 06, 1932. He also played in 47 first-class matches for Victoria.
Ted a'Beckett passed away in 1989 at Terang in Victoria Australia and was buried in the Woorndoo Cemetery, Woorndoo, Victoria, Australia.
