We live in Coleraine County Londonderry Northern Ireland. I was born In Omagh County Tyrone, in 1961, I am the son of Albert and Norah Nicholl both deceased of, Dysart Ballymagorry, Strabane, County Tyrone. I am one of 15 Children and the Grandson of John and Dorcus Nicholl, Dysart Strabane, both also deceased.

My Great Grand Parents were James and Sarah Nicholl of Tullyard , Strabane , in the Parish of Leckpatrick . On the Hetherington side of the Family my Grandparents were George and Margart Hetherington from Ballyholy , Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland.

I love exploring the stories and family History of the Nicholls, Our Oral history is inspirational and stems from our Ancestry in Scotland many years ago. it is to this end that I both seek and wish to participate in the wiki tree as it builds a global family to which we are all linked and share. So what cousins, lay beyond these shores, I don't know, but the journey in finding them will be interesting and magnificent.

Hi David,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, Just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely, Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

Hi David,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi David,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Here you can let members know your Counties, clan/family names etc of interest etc. We also now have a google+ community which you can join. I'll let you explore and catch up with you later. Feel free to add anything to the County pages and let me know any clan or family name pages you want me to set up for you. Thanks again for joining and enjoy. Maria

Hello David!

Hope you're enjoying our site. I have a gg-grandfather from Ireland.

Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Welcome!

David, did you know we have an Irish Roots Project? They are very friendly and willing to answer questions.

If you would like to add your own research, use this link to explore what it means to "Volunteer" at WikiTree.

Hi David, If you are just looking for information on your family, you don't need to Volunteer. You will find the People Search under FIND in the menus, upper right of this page. You can also ask questions in the G2G forum.

If you meant to Volunteer to help grow this wonderful collaborative Tree, please leave a note to that effect. We would love to have you! ~ Happy researching ~
