I am participating in an ongoing study to establish connections between isolated branches of the Tarleton / Tarlton / Talton families. My interest in family history began as a child and continues now into my golden years. DNA studies offer an avenue to cement suspected relationships to a degree not known until recently and my interest is to attached traditional genealogy onto a DNA framework when possible.

I actually stopped by to thank you for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
I would like to suggest that the Virginia Project could fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

I definitely am still in a learning phase but getting better I believe. All the suggestions, tools, and helpful aids are appreciated. Thanks for helping me !

Tarlton-179 and Tarleton-305 do not represent the same person because: Jack, you need to change the profile numbers for this proposed merge. You proposed merging yourself with Thomas.
I misunderstood what merging meant. I communicated with Gale Watkins and she helped me understand we should combine (not merge) the histories associated with Tarlton-179 and Tarleton-305. I will work on doing this over the next few days. My apologies.
