Biography

This profile represents the mother of known siblings, Machumps and Winganuske, the latter of whom was documented by Strachey as one of the favorite wives of Powhatan. ^[1]

There is no evidence, other than 20th-century-created Internet legends, of the following:

• that her name was Pau Pauwiske Morning Scent Flower
• that she was daughter of someone named "Dashing Stream" (no such person documented)
• that her birth was about 1550 and her death around 1590
• that she was born 3 or 30 June 1517 at the confluence of Dan & Staunton Rivers in what is now Virginia
• that she was wife of someone named "Morning Ripple" (no such person documented)
