Pope Pius VI saw potential in Gregorio and so he was called to Rome and joined the ecclesiastical accademy to study. However he didn't feel suited to ecclesiastical life and went instead to live with monsignor Romualdo Braschi, nephew of the pope [Pius VI?]. He subsequently returned to Cesena and died, unmarried, in Bologna[1]
