All WikiTree members are encouraged to help make the anniversary and 5* most visited profiles shine. If you work on one of the 5* profiles, please add a comment or answer here so that we can update the 5* spreadsheet.

If you are interested in Friends (Quakers) from England, Wales, and America, your help would be appreciated. If the profile has co-managers, please collaborate with those managers when possible.

There are bios to write, sources to find and/or update, profiles to be created if sources are found, categories to be added, general proofreading and spiffing to be done, etc.

  • 20 Oct 1742 John Cadwallader - Wales & America - sources from merged profiles need to be merged; bio needs to be written

  • 20 Oct 1758 Elizabeth (Gordan) Little - England - formatting, needs bio written

  • 21 Oct 1747 Marah (Chapman)(Croasdale) Wildman - England & America - six children are mentioned, four of which survived her. Only three have profiles. Detailed sources are needed

  • 21 Oct 1861 Harmon G Cook married Lucinda (Mills) Cook - America - Profiles needed for their children; sources on parents profiles

  • 21 Oct 1660 James Nayler - England - Looks good (thanks, Michael C) - review

  • 21 Oct 1732 Joseph Richardson married Mary Paxson - England & America - spell out locations, move the abstract of his will to appropriate location in timeline; both need added links to related profiles, added details and links for sources

  • 22 Oct 1909 Job Haines Kirk - America - needs profiles for spouse and children

  • 22 Oct 1780 Aaron Dodd married Rebecca Arnold - America - both need more details in sources; needs country added to death location; needs source for relationship to child

  • 22 Oct 1882 James Barnett married Marietta "Mary" (Scott) Barnett - America - needs inline sources; need links to related profiles;

  • 23 Oct 1793 Lydia (Coate) Davis - America - Needs Quaker sources and a minimal biography

  • 23 Oct 1678 Griffith Owen married Sarah (Barnes) Owen - Wales & America - both need Quaker sources and biographies

  • 23 Oct 1695 Sarah (Canby) Hill - America - Looks pretty good. Could use a source with evidence for the relationship to her linked child. Did she only have one child or were there others that need profiles

  • 25 Oct 1814 Samuel Brown - America - Review the Remember the Children project for ideas

  • 25 Oct 1729 Hannah Canby - America - Needs links to Ancestry records

  • 25 Oct 1746 John Penn - America & England - all sources are secondary; are primary sources available? The See Also reference needs adjusting so the entire paragraph is not a link

5 Star Profiles:

General suggestions for improvements:

  • Check that facts are sourced. Try to find sources for ones that aren't.

  • If there aren't dates/locations, see if you can find them and add with sources. If you can't find them, it would be helpful to add notes about where you searched so that others don't have to repeat your efforts.

  • Check if there are any duplicate family members and propose merges when necessary.

  • Rearrange the Biography section into a logical order, remove any GEDCOM junk and clean up after any merges. (see Biographies)

  • If there is a biography, make sure it is an originally written narrative, excluding any copyright or licensing violations (for example, not something that was copied and pasted from Wikipedia; see Copying Text)

  • If there's not a biography, try to lay out a basic narrative and/or timeline of the persons life. Getting the key facts in order will help others later.

  • Make sure the profile meets our Profile Aesthetics recommendations (see Profile Aesthetics and HTML and Inline CSS).
See if you can add photographs, pictures, maps or other visual items.

  • Add categories, project templates, stickers and/or succession boxes if appropriate.

Debi, I will take on John Cadwallader bcause the profile is conflation of a number of individuals and lacks any primary source documenation. It may be a little while before I get to it so if someone else wants to jump in that would be fine.

And, do we have anyone in the Quakers Project with physical access to the Tri-College Library? Some of the needed Quaker records are going to be there and available only in person.

Thanks, T. I don't know about who might have access to the Tri-College Library but I will pose the question to the Project's Google group and see what response we get.
Debi, any responses on the TriCollege Library? For some reason I don't seem to be on the google group. Can you send me an invitation? Think you have my email but let me know if not.
No response to the query, T. I've added you to the GoogleGroup.

Debi, do we have someone who can help with Welsh surname issues? Working on the profile of one of the several John Cadwalader's, I find questions regarding the commonly seen arrival of 1684 on the Vine once I look at the passenger list as transcribed by two different sets of transcribers. I don't see the wife's family (unless we have the surname wrong) and he's not listed although one transcription lists seven unnamed servants (the other transcription appears to give the names).

Also, I'm afraid there will be a lot of additional work required on surrounding profiles as the sourcing is fairly spotty.

Jack Day has helped me before with Welsh names in this thread.

I will take on Hannah Canby. I have become proficient in editing Ancestry sources.

Thanks, Lori
Well, someone was editing her profile at the same time. I cannot take the credit. How disappointing after all the work I did. I'm too worn out to take on another.
I'm so sorry, Lori. Thank you for the effort you put in to it. I'll try to come up with a better way of making sure everyone is aware of who is going to work on which profile. Tim apologized in a comment on the next answer.

Debi am I still in your google groups?

I can check when I get to a real computer, Leigh Anne. The tablet is not helpful for those kind of things. Regarding John Cadwallader, please coordinate with T Stanton who is already working on it.

I checked the GoogleGroup member roll, Leigh Anne, and you are not on there. Would you please follow this link to the Group and request to join. Please included your Wiki ID in the request.
