I saw a post that Marion Pritchard died earlier this month. One article stated that she was responsible for saving around 150 Jewish lives in the Netherlands during the Holocaust. I know that there are a lot of you out there that have magic skills when it comes to profiles and can make it beautiful. Also, it would be great to get her connected to the tree.

I connected her to Wikidata and linked to FindAGrave plus updated Wikidata with Schools she has visit see change log

Added tag dutch roots to the question and part of a newspaper article about her death + link

Added link + index info person chart Amsterdam (birthyear and name)

And was looking for more but just now, the archive has an interruption they are trying to fix ...asap...so will look elsewhere for more about her parents :)

Just adding the stuff in now, so just change it or place it where or how you would like it better ..
Way to go, Magnus! I added a Wikidata article item for her obituary and used it to source her death date, place, and cause.

@Karen ;-) feels like genealogy of the future....

I added a reference on Q28053218/P1443

Feels like the author of the orbitary is someone to quote more often twitter EmilyLangerWP

Oh, thanks, I wondered where to add the URL.

I also copied the citation to her WikiTree profile. :)

And I learned about the FindAGrave template there, so that's something.

Even cooler

  • Feels instead of text profiles why not just have interviews with people...

I added her Wallenberg award to Q4973552 with a link to the lecture video on youtube

I added a question in Project chat how to describe her

Magnus, I agree that Emily Langer, obituary writer for The Washington Post, would be a great person to follow on Twitter!

I added The New York Times article named "Marion Pritchard, Who Risked Her Life to Rescue Jews From Nazis, Dies at 96"

Nicely done, Bea!!
Thank you Scott, we love challenges eeh :) And a hero like this for sure deserves a nice profile, so thank you Ron for starting this and bringing her to our attention !
Working on parents now, added father, but have to run for a Christmas party, so if someone could add mother , that would be great :) I'll be back later
I added her mother, two grandparents, and two great-grandparents. I'm kind of stuck going backwards in time. Could someone else help with the English family?
Great job Karen ! Hope someone can help, the Dutch I can work on, but the English are a bit harder for me as well ;)

Lost my reading glasses somewhere (at the party ?), so at the moment everything is hard :P
We.can have a little race between her Dutch and English cousins to connect her. :)
Found some glasses , sounds like fun eeh :D
Added some ...ended up in Bex Switserland and England ..again :P So looks like I'm running around in circles here :P

Marriage was 18 April 1947 in Windsheim, Bayern, Deutschland. Here is the newspaper announcement.

Arrival in New York, 30 May 1947.

That's a great find ...again .. Jan ! Thanks ! Added it to the profiles of course ;)

I've been continuing to look at her English line, and made some progress, but no connection yet. Still looking though...
by Scott Fulkerson G2G Astronaut (1.5m points)

That's great Scottt, I was away for a while, but was looking for some Dutch van Binsbergens we have at WT already, so perhaps there's a connection somewhere as well :)

Well for part of the ''Dutch'' ancestors I ended up in England ? and Switserland, perhaps France ? Stuck now in Bex Switserland and perhaps England :) So if we have some Switserland experts here that would be interested and maybe you can find something in England ?

This is Pierre Richard (according the Death record , which is in French (to make it even harder :P) was born in Bex, Switserland about May 1724 as son of David Richard and Marie Halde) , married to Anne Smith possibly in London, because the Delft archive gives place of Birth London for one of their children..

I think I might have a connection through marriage along the "Openshaw" line (married a "Hyde" somewhere in the family tree). Will have to wait for the links to update. Not sure if I missed the window for tonight.
Woohoo that would be great of course ! Thanks for the great work ...again :D
You did it! Way to go! Now tell me what you think of my idea for connecting Dr. King... :-)
Got you a reply back on the Dr. King one - I'm on the fence with that potential connection, but I'd feel better if there were more corroborating sources or at least more genealogy resources that backed up the theory.
