Can anyone provide more info on Colonel Gleason?

At the Grand Review at Washington, Colonel Gleason is noted as commanding the 2d Brigade under General Absalom Baird  commander of the 3d division of the 14th Army.

There is an article in The Cadiz Sentinel, (Cadiz, Ohio), 31 May 1865, page 2 referencing him.

I’m interested in creating a profile for him, but don’t have enough information to do so.

So interesting that he was promoted to General and the service with the 87th Indiana fits, too.  Now I have plenty of material to create a profile from!  Thank you so much.

Sadly, it appears his “accidental death” was a suicide.

Here is the new starter profile for General Newell Sergeant Gleason.
