Info about Robert Atkins (Atkins-5969)

Question

I'm trying to determine if Atkins-5969, b. abt 1825 in Middlesex, England could be my great grandfather, Robert Atkins b. 07 Sep 1825, d. 28 Sep 1858, buried at Sweetwater Baptist Church, N. Augusta, SC, USA.  He married Elizabeth Ann Henderson on 01 Oct 1851 in Abbeville, SC.  I have not been able to discover any ancestors of my grandfather while researching at Edgefield, SC.

Hi Glenn, after a quick search I would say no.  But I will work backwards in time to see if I can find anything on the profiles you have created so far.

Robert has a will dated in 1858, and he lists as his executor, his wife Elizabeth, and a Ravena Atkins.  Looking in the 1850 census, I see a Ravena Atkins 9 years old living with Robert Atkins who is 24.  The head of the family is Francis Atkins.  Francis has a will dated 1856, and lists sons, Robert and Ravena.

It looks like you found the father (Atkins-7972) of my G-G Grandfather Robert Atkins and his mother (Cobb-11227).  It would be great if you created the profile for Robert.  I would then link my G Grandmother (Mary Elizabeth Atkins)(Atkins-7949) as his daughter.  I'm new to WikiTree and am learning how to navigate.

Glenn, I found a Robert Atkins same dates and places who married an Elizabeth Ann Doby same date and place as your g-grandfather.  After Robert died at age 33 Elizabeth then married William Jack Harling.  I have also found the name Henderson which I will pursue.  Quite a mix-up.

I also have the info that Elizabeth Ann married William Jack Harling after her first husband Robert Atkins died.  From Dr Constance Timmerman McNeill I have Elizabeth Ann's last name to be Henderson.  She had 4 children with Robert Atkins.  Her second husband William J Harling, Sr raised the 4 children and also had these additional children:

Thomas Price Harling b 1/9/1862  d 9/9/1862

Alice M Harling b abt 1864  no further info in my database

Susan E Harling b 10/26/1866 married M D Lyon as his 2nd wife,  his first was her half sister Margaret Ann Atkins d/o of Robert Atkins and Elizabeth Henderson

William J Harling Jr b 12/3/1868 married Mattie ???? 2 children
