Biography

George Nelson Wilson was born in May 1852^[1] in Mayfield^[2], as the son of Nelson Wilson and Ophelia Martha (maiden name not yet known) Wilson.^[3]

On 18 Aug 1870 George was 18, working as a farmer, and still living with his parents, Nelson (43) and Ophelia (36), three siblings - Perry (16), Benny (11), and Nelly (5), and a domestic, Ida Hopman (17).^[3]

George married Thedora Julia Ann (Sherman) Darnell (abt.1851-1925) on 6 Apr 1871. ^[4][5][6]

A daughter, Hattie May Wilson Newcomb, was born in 1877.^[7]

On 25 Jun 1900 George (48) and Julia (47), who had been married for 29 years, were living in Burton, Geauga, Ohio with their son, Harry V (22), and a nephew - Clarence G Smith (3). They owned their own home, and he was still working as a farmer.^[6]

After a variety of illnesses for about 18 months, George died at the age of 51, on Sunday, 7 Mar 1904, at his home aat 281 DeWitt Ave.^[1] in Burton, Geauga, Ohio and was placed at rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Burton.^[2]

Research Notes

In his obit, survivors were named as "his widow" and three children - Charles Wilson, Edward, and "Miss Latie" ... who is Latie? Could this be a typo in the obit that should have been Hattie? I would suggest developing a profile for Hattie to see timelines and other facts before considering Latie as an additional child.
