Biography

Elmer Frank Vail was born on 5 January 1926 in Carrollton, Carroll, Missouri, United States, son of Frank Miller Vail (1887–1972) and Grace E Arbuckle (1886–1973).^[1]

In 1930, Elmer (4) was living in Cherry Valley, Carroll with his parents, Frank M (42) and Grace (43); and his siblings, Margaret L (16), June (13), Virginia (12), Nettie (10), Ellen (4), Craton (3), and Donald (0). ^[2]

In 1940, Elmer (14)'s occupation was 'new worker'. He was living in Green, Polk with his parents, Frank M (52) and Grace (53); and his siblings, Ellen (14), Craton (13), Donald (10), and Maurice (9).^[3]

Elmer served in World War II. ^[4]
