Biography

John was born in 1857. He passed away in 1940.

In the 1860 census, John age 3 years was living with his mother Lucretia in Colchester, New London, Connecticut. The head of household was Guy Bigelow (probably his grandfather). Of note is that his mother is shown with a personal estate of $1,200.^[1]

In the 1870 census, John (age 13) was in Colchester, New London, Connecticut. Guy Bigelow (who seems to be the son of Guy Bigelow in the 1860 censes) is the head, Johnʻs mother, Lucretia is not listed^[2]

By 1879 John had relocated to Nebraska. John ( son of John B Staples & Lucretia Biglow), married Mary L Ayres (age 16) on 13 January 1879 in Covington, Dakota, Nebraska, United States.^[3]

John (age 38), son of John Staples & Lucretia Bigelow, married Anna Madden (age 45y) on 20 November 1895 in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa, United States.^[4]
