New Jersey, Abstract of Wills, 1670-1817. 1787, Mar. 3 - Timothy Smith, of Hopewell, Hunterdon Co., yeoman; will of. Wife, Jane (Lott), priviledge of house, a negro boy and 1/8 of residue. Son, Andrew, part of homestead as set apart by John Ely, bounded easterly by John B. Smith, southerly by George Smith, westerly by Isaac Larue and Andrew Smith, the elder, and northerly by said George Smith (100 acres). Son, George, 2 parcels of land (part of homestead) for 25 and 75 acres. Son John B., remainder of homestead (95 acres) joining the land of Simeon Phillips, John Price and others; also 5 acres of meadow and L10, when 21; should he die before 21, land to be divided between sons Andrew and George. To grandchildren (unnamed, children of deceased son Joseph), L40. Daughter, Abigail, L10, and a new saddle and bridle. Grandson, Timothy Smith (son of son Andrew), L10. Farm of 110 acres at Bell Mount whereon son, Joseph, lately lived to be sold. Right of fishing on bank of the River Delaware and lot of land William Ker lives on, to the 3 sons and son Joseph's children; whom together with daughters, Abigail, Sally (Sarah) and Polly (Mary), are given, each 1/8 part of residue. Executors -- son, Andrew, and son-in-law, James Willson (Mary Smith's husband). Witnesses John Van Cleve, Simeon Phillips and Gideon DeCamp.
