Biography
Louise was born 12 Oct 1863, in Monroeville, Huron County, Ohio, to German immigrants, Jacob and Maggie (Hildebrand) Seel. in 1880, she was a seventeen-year-old girl residing in Monroeville with her parents, three younger siblings, and her grandmother, Rosa Steel.
By 1885, she married John Mitchell. They had three children, Mary Gretchen, John P., and Norval.
In 1900, John and Louise were residing at Grand Rapids, Michigan, where John was a traveling salesman. John died sometime prior to 1910, when Louise is listed as a widow with her three children at Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, where she kept a boarding house. By 1920, Louise had moved her family to Southern California, where the family was residing on Mar Vista in Pasadena; and again she was boarding lodgers. In 1930, she was living in a home on Mountain Ave. in Pasadena, with three lodgers.
Louise died 8 Nov 1944, in Pasadena, California. She was buried at Mountain View Cemetery and Mausoleum in Altadena, California.
