The Pringle family were early settlers in Vaughan Township, Upper Canada (Ontario). John, son of William Pringle and Mary Blair, was a farmer in King Township.[1]
John was in a family history, and is noted to have married Maria Payne on 10 Feb 1843 in Tecumseh Township, of Simcoe County, in Upper Canada, and passed away on 30 April 1920 in Nobleton, King, York (King City), Ontario, Canada.[2]
In the 1861 census John (age 36) was in King, York, Canada West (Ontario), Canada. He is listed in the census with his father William (single / widowed), and his wife Mariah, along with his children Mary (17), William (15), George (13), Martha (11), Henry (8), and Joseph (5). They are all noted as being members of the Church of England. John's father, William, and wife Mariah, were both born in Ireland, though John himself and all his children were born in Upper Canada.[3]
John died at age 77, on 30 April 1902 in York, Ontario, Canada, after battling pneumonia for ten days.[4] He is buried in Nobleton Community Cemetery, Nobleton, York Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada along with his wife and many family members.[5]
Daughter, Mary, (b 3 Jan 1844), married Alfred Hunt on 16 Oct 1873 in Nobleton, York, Ontario. They had five children:
