Biography

This profile is part of the Pollard Name Study.

John Thomas Pollard was born in March 1853 in Georgia, United States. His parents were Henry Floyd Pollard Sr. (1832–1912) and Mary Ann Holley (1831–1905). [1] [2]

John (18) married Mary Susan Ballard (17) (born in 1854 in Alabama, United States) in 1872 in Georgia. [3]

Their children were:

  1. Mary Jane (Pollard) Cantrell (1872-1897)
  2. Martha Louella (Pollard) Wright (1875-1970)
  3. Andrew Jackson Pollard (1877-1950)
  4. William Orttho Pollard (1879-1963)
  5. Adney N. Pollard (1882-1931)
  6. Roy Pollard (1887-)
  7. Aileen Bess (Pollard) Meador (1896-1991)

After Susan's death he and Susie Northfleet were married on December 9, 1897, in Bowie, Texas, United States. [4] [5]

They had one son, Frank Pollard (1898-).

There is no information as to when or where John died. The last definitive information was the 1900 Census.

Research Note

The two wives of John were both named Susan and listed as Susan Pollard on the Census Forms. The 1900 Census indicates that Susan and John had only been married for 2 years. All the children but Frank are the first Susan's offspring.
