Biography
Lesley Payne was born in 1891 in Indiana, United States, daughter of Mary Elizabeth Riley (1864–~1936).
Lesley died in 1976 in Indiana, aged 84. He was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA (plot: Section 61, Lot 1).[1] Her tombstone is inscribed “The poet’s favorite niece”, referring to her uncle, poet James Whitcomb Riley.
