Obadiah Newcomb was born about 1695.[1] He was the son of Simon Newcomb and Deborah Unknown.[2]
Removed to Lebanon CT in 1713, and soon after settled in the adjoining town of Hebron. He married Abigail Curtice in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts on 23 November, 1722.[3] He married 2nd June 22, 1758, Mrs. Mary Post.[4] His tomb is upon land which he formerly owned, still called the "Newcomb farm"; the same he deeded to his son Daniel, 250 acres as a gift, July 27, 1758; it is that part of Hebron, now Andover, about three-fourths of a mile from the railway station.[5]Obadiah signed his will on October 25, 1758. In it he leaves part of his estate to his daughter Jemima, wife of Seth Wales. The will was probated on July 6, 1761.[6]Obadiah passed away on May 24, 1761 in Hebron and was buried at the Townsend cemetery in Andover, CT.[7]
