Biography
David was born 8 August 1885 at Drumlea, Gortin. He was the son of John Mitchell and Fanny Moffatt. [1]
As of 1901 the family had moved to Rutherglen, Lanarkshire. David did not appear on the 1911 Scotland census with his parents at Cambuslang; and when his brother Charles emigrated from Cambuslang to Pennsylvania in 1915, David was listed as his contact already in the U.S.
