- In 1880, Pierce Miller is living in Brown County, TX and is 25 years old. He is a "stock raiser", married to Mary, 22 and has a daughter Nancy, 1. His cousin, Margaret E. Preston age 15 is also living in his home as "assistant house keeper".
- In the 1900 census, Pierce is living in Concho County, TX and is a stock raiser. His last name is spelled "Millar" here. He is 45 years old and has five children living in the home, Nancy, Pierce, Abram, Frank, and Pearl. There were apparently two other children born to this couple, but two of them have died prior to this census date.
- By 1910, he is living in Concho County, TX and owns a "Stock Farm". He has his wife living with him and three sons, Pierce, Abe, and Frank.
