Research Note
There are two transcriptions in the records reporting that marriage of Nathaniel Messer and Sylvia Booth. One says that they were both of Lempster, Hampshire, and were married by Rev. Wait at Goshen, New Hampshire, in November 1843,[7] the other that they were both of Lempster and married by Rev. Wait at Lempster on 13 Nov 1845.[8] Their first child, Charles F. Messer, was born at Lempster on 13 Feb 1845,[9] this establishing the 1843 date as the correct one, but whether the marriage occurred at Goshen or at Lempster remains unknown.
