Biography
Unknown Mercier migrated from France to Acadia.
Unknown Mercier was born around 1624 (based on the year of his marriage), possibly in France, but the exact location is not known. He married Françoise Gaudet around 1644[1][2]
They had one child, Marie Mercier born about 1645[2]
He passed away before 1650 since Françoise remarried that year.
A theory is that Jean Mercier is Françoise Gaudet's unknown husband, but the evidence linking them is quite weak.[3]

La dispense de consanguinité du troisième degré accordée lors du mariage de Claude LeBlanc, petit-fils de Jacques LeBlanc et de Catherine Hébert, avec Judith Benoit, petite-fille de Guillaume LeJuge et de Marie Mercier (Régistre GP 12 février 1738) nous donne la preuve que Marie Mercier était la demi-soeur de Jacques LeBlanc.
