George Lucas is a film producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.
George was born and raised in California. He received his education from Modesto Junior College and the University of Southern California.
George has been nominated for four Academy Awards, but has not won any. He is responsible for advances in special effects and sound enhancement in motion pictures through his company Lucasfilm, THX Ltd., and Industrial Light & Magic.
While largely acting as director, producer, and screenwriter in various Star Wars products over the last half century, he also made an uncredited cameo appearance as Baron N. Papanoida of Pantora in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
In his semi-retirement, Lucas has focused on smaller, independently budgeted films.
Lucas has also been involved in philanthropy through multiple endeavors including the George Lucas Educational Foundation.
Lucas has been married twice and has four children.
