Biography

Robert was the son of James Johnstone and Catherine Steele
No Death or burial record has been found.
In 1891 the family was living apart, the boys with their father in Dalziel, Robert is described as a boarder.
The girls were living with their mother in Carnwath perhaps because of lack of work in Carnwath or maybe they were separated
In 1901 he was living in Dalziel, Lanarkshire, Scotland. listed as widower.
He is listed as family contact for his daughter Elizabeth Johnstone when she arrived in New York on 19 December 1910.
