I am upgrading from Guest to Family Member on wikitree.

I am a beginner genealogist and intend to begin collaborating on wikitree slowly to begin with until I gain enough knowledge and know how of how to navigate. All my family research up until now has been checked and rechecked for accuracy. Some years ago I created family trees on Ancestry and Family Search without realising what I was doing and I see my name is still on these two sites but I didn't work on these. I admit I stumbled around a lot and ended up making these mistakes.

Dear Helen,

Thank you for joining our project. We are pleased that you decided to join us and hope that you find the Orphan Trail rewarding.

The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members periodically to make sure everything is going well. This is our formal annual check-in and we are interested in your perspective as a Trailer, whether you are still waiting to be buddied up with a Trailblazer, on the road to completing the Orphan Trail, or taking a short break.

We would be interested to hear whether you're finding the explanations and guidance in the Orphan Trail pages useful. No more than a couple of sentences would be enough. We are always looking to improve and feedback plays an important part.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.

On behalf of all the Leaders, thank you again. We look forward to your completion of the Orphan Trail and your continued involvement in our collaborative and fun Project!

Kind regards,

Elizabeth, England Project Leader

Helen,

I just searched the OPC Records and found another Mary Ann Goldsworthy with a Baptism Record. The mother in this record is Maria, but the baptism in not until March 4, 1841. This could be yet another Mary Ann(e) making it even more confusing as her husband Richard Trevithick's name is incredibly common.

Hello Hellen,

I sent an email regarding Mary Anne Goldsworthy: Goldsworthy-1423.

The birth date you cite from OPC database is quite different than the one that I have in my records. Goldsworthy is a common Cornish name, as are the given names Mary Anne. I wonder if we are working on two different persons.

Dear Helen,

We hope you are enjoying your time in the Orphan Trail Team; even if you are currently taking a Pause or waiting to be buddied up with a Trailblazer. We are pleased that you decided to join us and on behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!

We are looking forward to you joining one of our other collaborative and energetic teams once you complete the Trail.

I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.

The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to provide us with feedback about the Trail or the project). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.

On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.

Best wishes,

Susie, England Project Leader

A. James;

Hey, Don't worry about screwing up, I did it big time when I first started. That's how I learn and I still make faut pas. You'll be fine. Just plow ahead and if you have problems and need a mentor I highly recommend Bobbi Hall. rayZ

Hi A,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Helen, here's what was suggested: Go to the link below. If you still need help you can post your question on the G2G page. I hope this solves the problem. --Jenny S
