Biography

Albert was born in 1881. He was the son of John Gracey and Ellen Hurley. He passed away in 1950.^[1]He is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Queensland.^[2]

In 1909, John married Eva May Mann.^[3]

Hurley family reunion book 1989

In a booklet prepared for a Hurley family reunion on 12 Nov 1989 the following comments appeared.

Albert James Gracey, "Money", born on the 9th of March 1881 married Eva May Mann at St. Patrick's Cathedral Toowoomba in 1909. He worked in the timber industry and ran his own dairy farm. This was later sold to his son John.

"Money" was a founding member of the Toowoomba Show Society and remained a member for 50 years. He died on the 8th of March 1950 and was buried at the Evergreen Cemetery.

The children of this family were: Annie Isabel (Bell) married Victor Graham; Catherine (Jean) married Eugene Potter; Marcella (Mercy) married Sandy Henshell; Eileen Rose married Joseph Achilles; John James married Gladys Hurley; Ellen Mary married Victor Hitzke; Mary Joyce (Joyce) married Lennie Murray; Kevin; Maureen. John James and Ellen Mary were twins.^[4]
