I was born November 28,1939. My parents are Ben Cates Goode born July 25, 1909 and Carlotta Bowman born October 25, 1910. I had four brothers; Charles, Bill, Ben Cates Jr. and Bobby Joe Goode. I graduated from West High School Knoxville, TN in 1957. I attended Knoxville Business College and have always worked in Credit and Accounting. I still work part-time at a company that I have worked for forty-one years. I have received the Presidential Award for The Knoxville Credit Women Association. I am, and have also worked in fundraising and on the board of several nonprofit organizations. I am a member of Knox Heritage, Historical Ramsey House, where I served on the board, The Knoxville Symphony League where I served as secretary, treasurer, vice president and then President. I am currently on the board of my D.A.R. Chapter, Andrew Bogle in Knoxville, TN. I was not really interest in genealogy until my brother became a S.A.R. member and encouraged me to join the D.A.R. I am now consumed with ancestry and writing a book about my ancestors. My big regret is that I started much to late and my biggest fear is that I possibly will not get the story told. Until you get into genealogy you cannot ever appreciate what our forefathers sacrificed to build this new world. Evelyn Miller

When you have the chance, please add your South Central Appalachia interests next to your name on our South Central Team page. While you’re there, you can read what others are working on and get to know us a little bit. Then join us on the Discord channel – we are a friendly bunch!
Also, please review our Reliable (and Unreliable) Sources for the Appalachia Project to help with sourcing our Profiles as you add or come across them. WikiTree requires valid sources on all Profiles and our Project has certain requirements for sources. Check the Appalachia Stickers Page for tips on adding stickers to profiles. In fact, you can add a team sticker to your own page!
I am always available for any questions or help. Thanks for joining the team.

We are sorry to lose you as a member of the Military and War Project, but we understand that life gets busy and interests shift. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin the project in the future if you wish.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Military and War Project and we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

On behalf of the Military and War Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members.
First, we want to thank you for your past participation in the Military and War Project. We appreciate your desire to honor your ancestors for their service to their countries, or even for your service, wherever in the world. We hope that your membership has enhanced your WikiTree experience.
Please let me know, by commenting on my profile or sending a private message, if you are still active in the project, and if so, in which ways you have contributed to the main project or a sub-project within the last two months.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

On behalf of the US Southern Colonies Project leaders, I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see what aspects of the project interest them most.
1) We would like to learn the number of contributions you have made in the last two months (May and April) to Southern Colonies?
2) We would like to know if you have joined other Southern Colonies Subprojects, such as Southern Pioneers Project. Or have you worked on other subprojects?
3) Your activity in Southern Pioneers Project.
I look forward to hearing from you.
