Note: Grandpa (Bill Dudley) was a time keeper for the railroad. Via Ron Dudley Jr. per Norma Barton Carey.
I asked her what he did for a living, she said he wore a white shirt everyday and went to the rail station and was a time keeper (she was not sure if that was really the right job title though).
She also said the he bought the house in Buckeye Lake because Grandma wanted to live there and not in Reynoldsburg like he wanted. She said he had a house picked out that he liked in Reynoldsburg (and it is still there), but Grandma threw a fit about living in Reynoldsburg.
Ron Dudley Jr is typing...
She said that Grandma was messing around with another man and was more or less leaving Bill because she was being told she'd be well taken care of. Norma was pretty sure it was Brownie. Grandma Eva was living there with them at the time. Bill became depressed and they had Norma remove the guns from the house as a precaution, but apparently there was still one there that he found.
Ron Dudley Jr is typing...
Grandma Dorothy and Eva were out for a walk when it happened and came home and found Dad trying to stop the bleeding.
Norma said that people think that it affected Dad (how could it not), but she thinks he grew up to be just the way he would have been either way.
She also had another picture of him after he came home from work (not in a white shirt) and I asked and she said he was working some place where it was dirty, but said he didn't care and went to workeveryday without missing a beat.
