[DB1]Devin
Henry Divens
Birth: Nov., 1836, USA
Death: May 19, 1906
Fulton County
Pennsylvania, USA
The son of Jacob & Margaret (Bechtel) Diven [sic], his siblings went by "Diven," and he is likewise referred to that way in military records. A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in Carlisle October 16, 1862, mustered into federal service at Camp McClure, Chambersburg, November 1 as a private with Co. F, 158th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company August 12, 1863.
He also enlisted in Newville, Cumberland County, August 19, 1864, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 20 as a private with Co. H, 202nd Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his comapny August 3, 1865.
He is on both rolls as "Diven," as is his brother Andrew both with the 130th and 202nd Pennsylvania Infantry, and Andrew is also buried as "Diven."
Apparently, the decision to change the name to Divens was Henry's alone.
Burial: May 1906, Knobsville United Methodist Cemetery, Todd Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, USA
Military service: Company M, 202nd Pennsylvania, USA Calvary
ID Number: MH:N27
