Biography

Alexis Désiré Côté was born and baptized on 9 Dec 1838 in L'Isle-Verte, Bas-Canada. He was the son of Malcom Cote, farmer, and Suzanne Lemieux of this parish. Sponsors at Désiré's baptism were Napoléon Côté and Genophe Côté; neither the sponsors nor the parents signed the register.

At age 22 Désiré married Marie Rose Anna Landry on 9 Jan 1872 in Saint-François-Xavier parish in Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada. There were four known children born into this marriage.

Désiré Côté died at age 88 on 29 Nov 1927 in Madawaska, New Brunswick.
