Biography
John was born in 1843 in Port Burwell, Ontario. He was the son of Andrew Chute and Olive Woodworth.
In 1861, Milton, labourer, 17, born Canada West [Ontario] was residing in Bayham, Elgin Co., Canada West [Ontario] with his parents Andrew, farmer, 70, born Nova Scotia and Holevia [sic], 58, born Nova Scotia.
He married 8 Oct 1867 in Clements Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, Lucy Warren.
In 1870, John M., 26, cook? in factory, b. Canada, Lucy, 29, b. Canada and Gurthrud [sic], 10 months were residing in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.
In 1900, John M., 50, jeweller?, widower, b. Canada was residing in Manistique, Schoolcraft Co., Michigan with his daughter MInnie G. Sellers, 30, son-in-law, Daniel E. Sellers, 35, veterinary surgeon, b. Canada, and son Frederick, 18, electric linesman.
He died 25 Oct 1903 at Manistique, North Branch, Lapeer County, Upper Penninsula, Michigan.
