Biography

John was born in 1798. He was son of Sir William Cave-Brown-Cave and Louisa Wilmot. He was baptised 10 May 1798, Stretton en le Field, Derbyshire.[1]

He married Catherine Penelope Mills in 1821 in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England.[2] John and Catherine had children including

  • Mylles, baptised 2 August 1822, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.[3]
  • Louisa Rosamund baptised 16 November 1823, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.[4]
  • Elizabeth Louisa, baptised 17 September 1827, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.[5]
  • Hyacinth Ellen, baptised 4 December 1830, Ellastone, Staffordshire.[6]
  • Verney, baptised 26 February 1833, Ellastone, Staffordshire.[7]
  • Ambrose, born c.1834

Sir John inherited the Cave baronetcy as the 10th baronet on the death of his father in 1838.[8]

He passed away 11 November 1855. [9][10]

Research Notes

There are probably some errors in the source reference locations. The Cave estate was at Stretton-en-le-Field on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border, so the attributions to Great Stretton may be incorrect.
