John Brown was born about 1853 in St Helens. He married Elizabeth Garner on June 8th 1873 at Holy Trinity Church in Parr Mount, St Helens (Anglican).
John and Elizabeth had at least seven children - William (about 1879), John (about 1881), Sarah (about 1884), Elizabeth (about 1886), Agnes (about 1888), George (about 1891), and Ellen (about 1892).
Elizabeth died in 1914. John himself died in 1926, at the age of 73, and was buried October 2nd in St Helens Cemetery, in the same grave as his wife, and their daughter Ellen who had died in 1923.
