Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Hi Richard,

Your grandfather Moses appears to have been born in USA, so I doubt I could help you find anything on him, you can always go to https://familysearch.org/, using their search function is free and you don't have to put your tree there. Not aware of any publications by him.

if you go to my profile, and put your cursor over the Liard-1 at the top, you get a drop down menu, there is a relationship calculator that will show you the lines on both side.

Hi Richard,

Glad to help. That's what cousins are for. 7th cousins twice removed is how it works out between us.  :D You'll find that a lot of people in 1700s and prior are already in the tree, so I suggest you do a search before entering a new person. Saves a lot of matching and merging.

Hello Richard

Thanks for joining WikiTree. I'm a WikiTree Mentor available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may have.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me via my profile page.

Maryann ~ WikiTree Mentor

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

We also have Mentors to help too.

Welcome! Laura
