Good Evening - I have done a great deal of research on Henry Augustus Dasher, II. Although official records indicate he was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, I am certain he was born on the Dasher Slave Plantation in Augusta, Georgia, escaped slavery, made his way to Canada, and from then on hide his original birthplace. The best evidence is his daughter's (Jane Dasher) emigration from Birkenhead, England to Worcester, Massachusetts. Adopted by William Douglas and his wife Elizabeth Everett. Elizabeth Everett's grandmother was Eliza Dasher born 1824, Augusta, Georgia. Eliza Dasher was the daughter of Thomas J. Dasher who was either brother or another slave on the same plantation by Slave Owner - Christian Dasher, Jr. If you have access to Ancestry: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/10876273/person/232065426977/facts

Ian, Thanks so much for being part of the Toddlin' Tortoises Team for the 1st Connect-a-Thon for 2022. Every well-sourced profile added helps to grow a healthier Tree!
Two tortoises — Hertyl and Spertyl Slowsky — stand facing each other. Between them is the stylised WikiTree "DNA Tree" logo, with the words "Wonderful WikiTreer" superimposed over the lower portion of the globe. Beneath the tableau are the words "We're all winners in the end" — because we are. All winners.

Thank You so Much Ian....we have been at a dead end on the William Butterworth ( my Gr GR grandfather who married 1821 in oldham),,now we have some names of his ancestors...ie Lawrence Butterworth 1703....Hope to find if William had brothers and sisters... Ron
My grandfather was Peter or Peter Daniel Peach, I believe he was born around 1900. He married Johanna Hendrika

Kapp in Knysna. Have you any information on them. I believe he was a dependent of the 1820 settlers in South Africa.
