Biography

William was born in 1870.

In the 1880 census, Sarah Barnes, age 28, indicates that she is single. She is not divorced or widowed. She lists that she was born in the United States but does not give a state. She does not know where her mother or father were born. Quite a mystery. She has two sons: William, age 10, and his brother, James, age 3. This is the brother, William, of my grandfather, James Barnes, who becomes a Methodist Minister.
