Biography

Ellen was baptised at Kilham on the 22nd of July 1860 the daughter of Edward Anderson and his wife, Jane Beilby. ^[1] It had been her birth the previous month that had cost the life of her mother. There is no sign of Ellen nor her two year old sister, Alice, in the 1861 Census. In 1881 Ellen was recorded as living with her brother, William, a bank cashier, at Spring St. in Huddersfield.^[2]
