I need help finding details of the death of [[Payne-17698 |Richard William Payne]] b.1853 and died 23 Apr 1909 in his store in Shiloh, King George County, Virginia. Family story is that he was shot in his general store, yet I can not find an obituary, a death certificate, or any newspaper account of that event. There is a Find-a-Grave reference but not a stone. Who shot him and why?
