Daniel Williams, spouse of Alice Allen, is sometimes reported in family files as the son of Joseph and Susanna (Browning) Williams, who married at Salem, where Sarah is said to have died in 1719. This Daniel, son of Joseph and Susanna, is sometimes reported to have died Beverly in 1707. There appear historical records reporting Joseph and Susanna had a son, Daniel, but nothing substantive reports he was the same Daniel Williams who resided Manchester, Massachusetts and married Alice Allen.
Somewhat in contrast, Alice Allen and her husband survived well beyond 1707. In 1712 both joined in Essex (Massachusetts) Deeds 25:17. The deed refers to Alice Williams as "one of ye Daughters of Sam'l Allen Deceased."
This is likely the same Daniel Williams described earlier as "eldest son" of Jenkin Williams. Together with his mother Abigail, this Daniel Williams was appointed administrator of the estate of Jenkin(s) Williams, late of Manchester, 1 June 1696. [Essex Probate, case 30010]
Still later and still of Manchester, this Daniel Williams was referred to in 1725 when the heirs of Jenkin Williams transferred various property to him via Essex (Massachusetts) Deeds 49:187, calling him "our brother." Among the heirs engaged in the transfer was Daniel's sister, Abigail [(Williams)] Allen and her husband, Samuel Allen, Alice (Allen) William's brother).
Daniel Williams' birth as after 1667 is based on report by authors of Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire that his parents had married before 1 Oct 1667.[1]

Well, I might have 1712 deed (source) that helps us out of this pickle.
Before I post that to this profile, if we ultimately agree that Alice's hubby was Jenkin's son, then would we (a) change the parents on Williams-2527, or (b) create a new profile for Jenkin's son and move wife Alice there?
If I had a source I can't find it now. I did a couple of quick searches in Ancestry and nothing comes up, though the event is copied from tree to tree.
Snippets of the deed posted to Jenkin Williams' profile (Williams-26604) reference his son Daniel of Manchester as "Husbandman alias Shoreman.
That deed is dated 1725, so clearly beyond the date of death reported on Williams-25257, who reportedly died Beverly in 1707, but I don't find that death in the Beverly VR. Didn't find a probate listed either (quick check).
Still checking.
Might you know the source of the information concerning the death at Beverly in 1707?
I created profiles about Jenkin and his wife, Abigail Cloyes. Added references to Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire on both profiles.
Father of Abigail Cloyse is probably John Cloyes / Cloyes-28, but his profile sports birth details; wife Abigail has maiden name, etc. Details about their marriage, again sans documentation, have been entered too.

So appreciate that you took the time to exchange about this. --GeneJ
Should we just sever Daniel from Joseph (father) and attach him to Jenkins?
