Biography
Jack was Born in Cromell December 15 1948 -Twin brother to Jillian Williams-126988 . Their parents were Bruce Williams June Stewart
Jack and my cousin Marg Trafford-364 were an item before Jack as a Regular Soldier was posted to Malaya while there they discovered Marg was pregnant ..As the troops were being trained for deployment to Vietnam, the Chaplain pointed out that as a wife Marg would be better looked after if they Married so they were Married by Proxy.
A Wedding by Proxy was arranged on 3 April 1969, the Bride at the Napier Registery Office - the Groom with the Army Chaplain at Camp Terandak, Malaya.
Before the Troops went to Vietnam, Jack suffered a serious accident where he fell from a rope connected to a Helicopter and was very badly hurt - He remained in Malaya until he was fit to resume Active Service - he was then shipped to Vietnam.
Soon after rejoining his Unit he volunteered for a Recon Mission and was Killed in an Ambush by the enemy.
Jack Williams was killed in action during the Vietnam War.

His corps was returned to Malaya and was buried at Camp Terandak.
In August 2018 Johns remains were repatriated to New Zealand and he was reburied with Full Military Honours witnessed by his wife Marg and his son John[ Williams-113575 in Dannevirke.
