Biography

Minerva was born about 1817. [see Research Notes]

In 1850, Preston and Minerva Crank lived in Lawrence County Kentucky with five children. She was listed as 33 years old, born in Virginia.[1] Ten years later, they had moved to Carter County, Kentucky, and had eight children at home.[2] In 1870, three children remained at home.[3]

In 1880, Preston and Minerva lived in Carter County, Kentucky.[4]

She passed away about 1885.[5]

Research Notes

Birth and death locations are uncertain. 1850 and 1860 census list her birth as being in Virginia; later census list Kentucky. Researchers have listed possible locations of death as Grayson County, Kentucky and Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky (the county she was buried in). Corroborating sources are needed to resolve these uncertainties.

Larry Bridges
Wilburn-304 and Wilburn-301 appear to represent the same person because: they are both married to the same man. Birth and Death locations should be resolved, as they are currently different.
