Biography

Jane was born in 1837 to James Turner (described as a mill manager on her wedding record) and Elizabeth.

“August 7th 1853; Thomas Weatherby, 20, bachelor, mechanic of 52 Dale Street, son of John Weatherby, engraver; Jane Turner, 19, spinster of 13 Upton Street, dt of James Turner, Mill Manager; witnesses John Godwin, Maria Turner”; [1]

She married Thomas Weatherby on 7 Aug 1853 at Manchester Cathedral.

Together Thomas and Jane had at least five children.

In 1871 she was recorded on the census living at 15 Walmer Street with her husband and five children and this was where she died on 6 Sep 1871.
