When John L. Thompson was born on 29 June 1859, in Tazewell, Virginia, United States,[1] his father, James Matthew Thompson, was 24 and his mother, Matilda Gouldy, was 16.[2]
He married Florence Green in 1880, in Kentucky, United States.[3]
They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters.[4]
He lived in Farmers, Rowan, Kentucky, United States in 1900[5] and Magisterial District 1, Lawrence, Kentucky, United States in 1910.[6]
He died on 17 June 1919, in Bath, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 59.[7]
