Samuel, son of Samuel Thompson & Ann Thompson, was baptised on 21 September 1828 in Geddington, Northamptonshire, England.[1]
Marriage
Samuel married Mary Clipson on the 1st of Feb, 1846 at Geddington Parish, Northamptonshire England. [2]
Children They had two children together before Mary died:
- Lewis John Thompson (born in England in 1846 and died in NSW in 1922).
- Elizabeth Anna Thompson 1850-1853 (born and died in Victoria). [3]
Australian Arrival
Samuel arrived at Port Phillip Bay on the ship "General Palmer" on the 10th of April 1849. He was aged 24 and accompanied by his wife Mary and their infant son Lewis. He was listed as a Blacksmith and destined to be employed by a Mr Raleigh in Melbourne. [4]
Death of Spouse
Mary died at Richmond, Colony of Victoria in 1852. Parents names not listed on the death index, but her husband Samuel Thompson is. She was aged 28 at the time of her death. [5]
