Elizabeth (Reid) Hodgers was born in Ireland.

Elizabeth was born in about 1866. She was the daughter of Patrick Reid.

She married John Wallace. They had at least five children.

Her husband died in 1895.

On March 1, 1897 at Kilsaran Parish (Roman Catholic), Castlebellingham, County Louth, Ireland, Patrick Hodgers (of full age, a widower, a laborer, residing at Dundalk, son of Nicholas Hodgers, a laborer) married Elizabeth Wallace (of full age, a widow, residing in Castlebellingham, daughter of Patrick Reid, a laborer). Married by Peter Pentony, Parish Priest. Witnesses were Owen Campbell and Annie (can't read).

In about 1898 the family moved from Ireland to live in Liverpool, England.

UK Census Date 31 March 1901: Living with her husband Patrick and their combined family of four children (Patrick, John, Rose and Edward) at 3 Black Diamond Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Aged 30. Her husband was a Dock Labourer.

In the UK Census of 1911 Elizabeth (now aged 46) and Patrick (now aged about 49) were recorded at 10 Cunliffe Street, Liverpool. Also in the household were two Lodgers.

Her husband died in 1928.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register Elizabeth (aged about 73 and a widow) was living at Huyton with Roby, Lancashire, England. Also in the household was her unmarried daughter Ellen.[1]

Occupation: Unpaid Domestic Duties

Elizabeth Hodgers, aged 78, widow of Patrick Hodgers, a dock laborer, died August 5, 1945 at 1 Warrington Road, Whiston[2]. She resided at South Dean Road in Huyton. Cause of death was a haemorrhage (hard to read). Registered by E. McIver, daughter, of Huyton.

She was buried on 10 August 1945 at Ford Cemetery, Ford, Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England[3]. Plot: Section PO, plot 155
