Hello Sue

Just a reminder that the connect a thon starts on Friday at midnight (Sydney time) for 72 hours - so thats until Monday at midnight. Please adjust start/finish times for other states.

Here is our team page which has lots of info - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Super_Aussie_Genies_-_SAG_Challenge_Team

During the thon we can communicate in 2 ways - - via Discord - see the team page for how to connect. This is live chat. You can join the Super Aussie Genies channel or the Australia Thon Channel, or both! This is the best vehicle to learn from others. - via the G2G page. I've put this message on the page and sent it earlier today. If you didn't receive it, it's because you don't have the tag for 'SAG' or 'Australia'. Please add a tag so you receive future messages. You can ask questions on this page during the thon and any team members can answer. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1676667/calling-all-super-aussie-genies-for-january-2024-connect-thon

Enjoy the thon - feel free to message me if you have any problems!

Talk more on Discord soon...

Veronica

Hi Veronica, I feel I'm going round in circles with the links on Wikitree. I have discord-connected while doing Orphan Trail which I am still doing -but only 'talk' with my helper. How do I find Aussie Genies channel to ask questions?

I'm going to be adding to my Wikitree, some close relatives I have known , aunts, uncles etc who have since died. But some of their births are not yet in the BDM index. In the source, can I put something like Personal Knowledge if I don't have a certificate? Another Q: Do I search for the person I want to add to make sure there are not already there? I'm thinking a few generations back, adding siblings to my direct ancestors. I'm starting a person list today with a source, so I can copy and paste furiously over the weekend. Is that a good strategy? Does Wikitree automatically know I'm on the team and counts the additions? Sorry to be asking all this at the last minute. Sue H
