Biography

Eleanor "Ellen" Milner was born in 1831 in Worton, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of John & Ann Milner. Eleanor was baptised on 10 April 1831 in at the parish church in Askrigg, Yorkshire.^[1][2]

In the 1841 census Eleanor (age 10) was living with her parents & siblings in Worton, Yorkshire, England. Note: the family surname was recorded as Miller, on this census record, but the majority of their family records confirm the name Milner.^[3]

Eleanor and John Langdale (born in 1826 in Askrigg, Yorkshire; son of George Langdale & Margaret) had banns read at the Askrigg parish church in on Aprili 30, 1848 and the following two Sundays.^[4][5] It's unclear what happened afterward, but the couple didn't marry until 1850 in Askrigg, Yorkshire.^[6] The couple had two daughters who both died in infancy. The last child died around the same time as Ellen's death, possibly during childbirth.
