Black-5793 and Miller-82327 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person. Elenner Miller is Cherokee found on 1852 cherokee Census rolls.

My great grandmother was Mary Jane Brown, daughter of (her mom) Frances Jane (Fanny) Black, Fanny's Father was John Lewis Black, his father was Joseph Onesimus Black, whose father and mother were William David "Black Bear" Black Sr. and Eleanor "Moon Eyes" Miller. What I do not understand, is, if they were Native American, why were their parents not Native American? It seems that "Black Bear's" father was Thomas Benjamin Black from Indian Creek, North Carolina and the lineage goes back to Scotland. I am just not figuring out how the Native American lineage fits in. Does anyone help with explaining it? Thanks!

Hi there, I am Eleanor and William's 5th great granddaughter on the black side. William and Eleanor's son Joseph O. Black was my 4th G. Grandfather. He was married to Mary Ann Haun and had a son named John Lewis Black. John Lewis Black married Mary Jane Sally-Black and had a daughter named Francis "Fanny" Jane Black-Brown. Francis married James Robert brown and had a son named Marion Frances Brown. Marion Brown's son he had with Frances C. Nuss was Adam Edward Brown, my grandfather! So now you know my linage to Eleanor and William. I am so looking forward in meeting new family members of theirs
